The role will require competence to work in both the Preadmission Area as well as the Day Of Surgery Admission (DOSA) roles.
Key Responsibilities This Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) Nurse provides comprehensive care for the pre-operative patients, assessing and coordinating all pre-operative preparation is undertaken on the day of surgery including but not limited to: Completion of the admission risk screening tool A best possible medication plan on medication chart, if high risk commence medication management plan Patient height and weight documented on anaesthetic chart Ensure patient has completed appropriate menu The Preadmission Assessment Nurse is responsible for assessing the patient's pre and post-operative needs.
This may involve phone or in person clinical assessment ensuring that patient physical, social and psychological inpatient and post-operative needs are met.
Pre-operative advice and direction is required to be given to patients and care givers that is consistent with hospital policy and procedure.
What you bring AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting Knowledge, understanding and demonstration of customer service culture in health care.
Ability to demonstrate Calvary Hospital's core values, mission and vision and to incorporate into practice.
Immunisation status up to date.
Demonstrated experience in Perioperative or Postoperative care Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Why work for Calvary?
