We are seeking applications from general and specialised Registered Nurses to join the Medical, Surgical, ICU or Emergency Teams at Hamilton Base Hospital and/or Aged Care sites in Hamilton, Coleraine and Penshurst.
WDHS Acute Services The WDHS Medical Unit is located on the ground floor of the Hamilton Hospital.
The unit contains 23 beds including six (6) sub-acute (rehabilitation).
Co-located within the Medical Unit are the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Oncology and Rehabilitation Units.
The four-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides a level 2 service in coronary care, high dependency and intensive care services including trauma and complex surgical cases.
It is staffed with specialist nursing personnel.
The Surgical Unit presents an opportunity for surgical nursing experience in both short stay and same day surgery, acute care and surgical patients.
The Surgical Unit provides a wide range of procedures such as endoscopy, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, bariatric surgery, ENT and general surgery.
This is a 32 bed Surgical Department with staff demonstrating a strong commitment to upholding patient centred care.
Our Operating Theatres facilitate elective surgery five days a week with on-call services available for emergencies and trauma 365 days a year.
The operating suite consists of two operating theatres, a Central Sterile Supply Department CSSD, Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Preadmission Clinic and Direct Admission.
The Emergency Department is located adjacent to the Medical/Intensive Care Unit and Medical Imaging (x-ray) Department to streamline emergency care.
The Unit is staffed to provide 24-hour access for members of the community requiring emergency care and has been designated a Regional Trauma Service by the Victorian Department of Human Services.
You will support and be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care and be able to problem solve and asses each patient's needs, in order for care to be planned and implemented.
You will have exceptional and demonstrated decision making skills consistent with experience.
The successful applicants will have current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, demonstrated competency in clinical practice and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, while providing high quality nursing care.
Evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development will be highly regarded.
Those with a relevant post graduate qualification or previous experience are encouraged to apply.
