Vacancy No 5191 Job Title Regional Specification Manager – Drainage & Water Management Products – South West Job Description Are you an experienced specification sales professional interested in enhancing your career with one of the UK's leading brands in construction materials? If so, we are working with a renowned manufacturer of Drainage Solutions who are looking to appoint a Regional Specification Manager to strengthen the position of their business in the South West of England. The Role The main purpose of your role will be to raise our Client's profile among key customers in the region including Architects, Consultants and Main Contractors. Specific duties would include: Develop existing and create new relationships so that our Client is the customers' 1st choice of products. Understand the specification process with major contractors, consultants, engineers, architects and D&B contractors. Raise the company's profile within its existing specification base and build new relationships. Look for new specification and project opportunities. Review and progress any leads generated by NBS Source and the brand specific websites. Have the ability to defend specifications and to target/break competitors' specifications. Deliver training and product presentations to contractors and CPD presentations to consultants/architects/contractors/developers. Take a project from inception to main contractor on site stage gaining specification for as many projects as possible. Look to take the company's products into new markets. Promote and sell new product ranges. Where necessary, assist with new product development. Work as part of a team and hand projects over to the Area Sales Manager at an agreed stage. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required In order to be successful in this role, you will need previous experience in specification sales along with a strong knowledge of the building products supply chain. Skills and experience required: Experience in selling drainage, civils or water management products considered a huge advantage but not compulsory. Be able to problem solve and offer technical assistance at the project design stage. A knowledge of reading site drawings is essential. You will concentrate on the specifier, contractor and project stage of the supply chain. However, a knowledge of the merchant customer base would also be an advantage. Existing relationships with architects, engineers, main contractors and developers is essential. It would be advantageous if you have previously managed a similar sized geographical area.
