Regional Credit & Recovery Specialist

Your functionThe Regional Credit Specialist (RCRS) acts as 2LOR for complex, non-standard and high-risk transactions. The RCRS also advises on workout strategy and restructures within the C&R domain. The subject matter expert requires the ability to create clarity and structure in the diverse strategic, business, and financial-economic aspects that influence it. As a RCRS, you will engage with 1LOR and customers to provide quality advice and decision-making. The RCRS acts as a sparring partner for the business, is characterized as a senior advisor towards Risk leadership and relevant Business Unit members, provides coaching to underwriters and C&R members, and is a recognized expert. The RCRS has a sharp eye for relevant legislation and regulations (compliance) and acts in accordance with them across the full scope of the discipline.You will be based in Sydney, report directly to the Regional Chief Risk Officer, and secondarily to the Corporate Credit Specialist (Credit) and Global Corporate Recovery Officer (C&R). You will work closely with 1st and 2nd line underwriting organizations, Collections and Recovery teams, and leadership to safeguard our portfolio and profitability.Day to dayProvide powerful functional guidance towards the countries.Take Risks: Propose risk appetite in alignment with the business:Manage and liaise with all DLL parties including Group Risk Management departments, internal stakeholders, and external customers/partners within the dedicated countries regarding risk management matters and representation of DLL Group.Take Risks: Execute business strategy and maintain risk profile within the risk appetite and underwriting criteria.Approve nonstandard structured complex applications and end-user/dealer/local vendor applications that exceed the authority level of the Country and are within own delegated authority; recommend applications towards the Regional CRO and/or Regional Risk Committee.Prepare Funding Limit Applications and overviews to the Global Risk Committee and Rabobank WR for approval.Prepare Non-Bank and Financial Institutions (NB/FI) applications and submit to Rabobank WRR for approval (via Corporate Credit Specialist).Ensure timely and quality submission of material to Global Credit Committee and Global Risk Committee.Credit and risk management activities concerning highly complex deal structures (highly customized payment conditions, agreements, proposals) with knowledge of all business units and customer sectors.Beyond local credit committee authority / complex transaction structures, major deviations from the approved vendor program, typically large (international) clients.Take Risks: Provide clear substantiation for new business, restructuring and recovery decisions, product proposals, and material changes.Own Risks: Embrace effective forward-looking risk management by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on risks incurred in business activities.Own Risks: Act consistent with DLL values and supporting policies:Provide coaching, guidance, training, and coordination for the Region's countries.Coach country risk members and business partners in reviewing and organizing their own Country Risk capacity and capabilities for all risk areas, in line with business objectives as well as COO Risk / Group C&R planning and available budget.Direct responsibility for coaching the (performance and development) of the Country credit underwriters and C&R recovery specialists.Own Risks: Demonstrate adequate oversight of risks in business activities via "in control" statements.Manage Risks: Implement supporting systems, models, processes, procedures, and deliver training to adhere to policies:Promote an Integrated Risk Management culture in the countries, including Customer Due Diligence, Treat your Customers Fairly (TCF), portfolio management, emerging client risks, climate risk, sustainability, etc.Your ProfileAppropriate academic qualifications, e.g., Bachelor's / Master's degree in business / finance / accounting.Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Banking / Finance environment, managing both financial and non-financial risks.Highly experienced Credit / Risk Professional, with 10+ years in complex transaction structuring.Superior Credit Application (new business / reviews) and Loan Strategy Report (C&R workouts) writing skills.Proven C&R strategy / workout experience is highly preferred.Strong understanding and application of Risk / Reward.Experience in DLL's lines of business is preferred.Quality driven and results oriented.Highly adaptable.Proactive self-starter.Strongly collaborative.
