JPC Reefer Services has been at the forefront of the industry since our inception in 1999. We are looking for experienced fully qualified Refrigeration (Reefer) Mechanics to join our team in Devonport, TAS and Melbourne, VIC to assist in providing quality services and maintenance.Role Description:The Refrigeration (Reefer) Mechanic (Reefer Technician) is responsible for the malfunction repair activities for all types of refrigerated (reefer) containers; checking all the refrigerant and electrical systems, monitoring all reefer units' temperatures at the port on request from clients; carrying out pre-sail inspections on the vessels for all reefer units on board vessels; raising estimates for all failed units that require repairs prior to release; attending to call outs for the loaded reefer containers on board vessels and all warranty call outs for Carrier/Thermo King/Daikin and Star Cool; ensuring that warranty programs are carried out based on the manufacturers' criteria; liaising with port terminal & depot for units that require a PTI (pre-trip inspection); carrying out data downloads for reefer units under the instruction from shipping lines; updating all software from our suppliers and testing on reefer units during the PTI phase.Skill Requirements:We are looking for candidates with a relevant qualification in air-conditioning and refrigeration. Experience in Carrier/ThermoKing/Daikin/Starcool container training is required. Minimum of 2 years of reefer experience in container refrigeration is necessary. Specialized skills in working with refrigerated containers.Remuneration: $75,000 – $80,000 per year
