Ref 4570/24 - Senior Lead, Organisational Effectiveness, Office of the Vice-Chancellor & PresidentAbout Us Western Sydney University is a modern, forward-thinking institution, located in Australia's most dynamic and rapidly growing region. With 11 campuses across Sydney and international locations in Vietnam and Indonesia, we're expanding globally, with exciting plans for new campuses in India. We're proud to serve a large and diverse community of over 200,000 alumni, nearly 50,000 students, and approximately 3,500 staff. Our research is recognised globally, with over 85 percent rated at or above world standard, and we've been ranked 1st worldwide for our commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals for three years running.
We are driven by our core values of excellence, sustainability, equity, transformation, and connectedness. Our vision is simple yet powerful: starting in Western Sydney, we want to see our students succeed, our research make a global impact, and our communities thrive. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor is at the heart of this mission, helping to ensure the University continues to deliver on these goals.
The Opportunity We are seeking a strategic leader to work alongside the Chief of Staff in spearheading key planning and operational initiatives that position Western Sydney University for success. You'll bring a fresh perspective to project planning and delivery, applying agile methodologies to improve the way we work. As a leader, you'll support the growth and development of your colleagues, fostering an environment of collaboration and professional growth.
Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you enable smooth execution of strategic initiatives across the University. By working closely with senior executives, business units, schools, and key governance bodies, you'll provide insight that supports strategic decision-making and enhances the University's ability to thrive in an ever-changing global environment. Your contributions will directly shape the University's future growth and evolution, ensuring projects and programs are aligned with our strategic priorities.
About You We're looking for someone with a background in business, economics, project management, or a related field, along with experience working in a complex organisation. Ideally, you'll have a postgraduate qualification and expertise in areas like Lean Six Sigma, Process Improvement, or Design Thinking, although these aren't essential. What's most important is your ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, helping to shape the strategic direction of the University.
You'll be comfortable engaging with people at all levels of the organisation, providing clear direction and support as needed. Strong planning and project management skills are key, as well as the ability to lead change in a way that brings people along with you. Excellent communication skills will be essential in helping you build strong relationships and influence key decisions.
Why Join Us At Western, we offer a welcoming, supportive, and innovative environment where you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference. As part of our community, you'll contribute to the success of a globally respected institution, helping us to continue transforming lives and creating positive change. We value our people and offer competitive benefits, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth. Join us in our mission to create a better future for our students, staff, and communities, starting right here in Western Sydney.
