What is the role?
Applications are sought from highly motivated, skilled, enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals wishing to be considered for Team Leader roles across the Recruitment team as they arise.
The team consists of the following functions:
Talent Acquisition Services (corporate and professional related recruitment including talent attraction and provision of strategic advice and support to internal clients) - Role located in ACT Entry Level Recruit Team (Police and Protective Service Officer volume/bulk recruitment) - Role located in ACT or Melbourne Emerging Talent (graduates, directions and internship programs.
Volume/bulk recruitment) - Role located in ACT Role Description & Responsibilities Team Leaders are responsible for leading the team and providing clear direction and support ensuring the team manage priorities and deadlines efficiently and to a high standard.
In this role you will be able to think creatively about how to attract the right talent at the right time for the AFP and well as establishing the ways in which we assess talent.
In this role you will have a relatively high level of autonomy.
You will be responsible for workload allocation and exercise sound judgement for team and financial approvals.
Ideally you will have relevant experience and knowledge of end to end recruitment processes, the current recruiting market and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Collaboration, strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency will be important personal traits.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provision of leadership to staff in relation to day to day recruitment processes, ensuring consistency in the application and interpretation of policies and governance; Management of work performance to ensure that deadlines are met; Analysis and application of recruitment and performance metrics to support decision making; Identifying and planning for peaks and troughs throughout the yearly recruitment cycle; Seeking continuous improvements to ensure that the AFP continues to deliver on the right people in the right place at the right time.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual.
Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position.
Minimum Requirements You must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Have contemporary recruitment knowledge and experience relevant to the role of Recruitment Team Leader.
If you are applying for the Emerging Talent (Graduates) or Sworn Entry Level Recruit roles then previous experience in volume / bulk recruitment (online testing and assessment centres) is required.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Highly Regarded Skills Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
Experience using Success Factors Recruitment System.
Experience in an agency environment.
