Ongoing, Full-Time Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service The Recreation Officer is part of the Vocational Services Team. The role of this team is to prepare prisoners for release and to enhance post release employment opportunities, targeted educational opportunities and personal development programs and activities. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Senior Recreation Officer, the Recreation Officer will coordinate, facilitate, and supervise a range of recreational activities and programs for prisoners providing instruction, coaching, and training. The Recreation Officer will assess recreation requirements of general and special needs prisoners to inform development of recreation programs for individuals and groups. A Pre-Employment Health Assessment will be required for external candidates and non-custodial staff. ABOUT YOU As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate: Experience developing and delivering passive and active recreation programs • Understanding of the constraints of working within a prison environment. Qualifications/Requirements Cert III in Fitness or equivalent qualification.
