The Newcastle Knights are looking for a motivated and proactive Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Officer to assist in implementing our RAP and drive cultural engagement across the Club and the Wests Group.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan formalises the Newcastle Knights' and The Wests Group Australia's commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. By establishing this Reconciliation Action Plan, the club aims to further engage with First Nations communities to create social change and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to educate our members and fans, sponsors and partners, employees and the wider community on the importance of reconciliation.
Position Summary/Purpose:
The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Officer is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Newcastle Knights' and the West Group Australia's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and enhancing the engagement and inclusion of First Nations communities with the Club and the Wests Group. This role supports all business units in the achievement of RAP targets, educates and engages various stakeholders, and liaises regularly with the RAP Working Group, Aboriginal Advisory Board, and business units to ensure alignment with the club's values and cultural aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The RAP Officer will ensure the successful delivery of RAP initiatives while fostering meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Please note - This position is a 12 month part time fixed term contract that includes 2 working days (16 hours per week). About you:
You are a passionate, results-driven individual with a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.
What we're looking for: Experience in RAP delivery or similar reconciliation initiatives.Strong knowledge of government funding and grant management.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.A commitment to cultural sensitivity and fostering positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.A passion for the role of sport in promoting positive social change.Familiarity with RAP frameworks and community sector experience.Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.A valid driver's license and active Working with Children Check.Duties & Responsibilities: RAP Implementation: Support RAP execution, aligning with business units to achieve targets.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, government, corporate partners, and not-for-profits.Education and Awareness: Coordinate initiatives to raise reconciliation awareness among staff and stakeholders.Coordination and Events: Serve as the RAP Working Group contact, organising and raising awareness of cultural events and reconciliation, engaging internal staff and external stakeholders and ensuring cultural sensitivity and authenticity in RAP activities.Monitoring and Reporting: Track, evaluate, and report on program outcomes monthly, contribute to reports, proposals, and presentations, and assist with budgeting and strategy development.What We Offer:
