The Emergency Preparedness Response (EPR) team is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of Emergency Preparedness Response plans to the crew of Nuclear Powered submarines.
As the EL 1 Reactor Plant and Technical Manager (REO), you will serve under the Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response (DEPR) and perform professional engineering duties in connection with developing, applying, and evaluating radiological and nuclear engineering testing procedures to reactor systems, preparing emergency plans for HMAS Stirling in support of Naval Nuclear Powered Vessels (NPV).
This role may require periods of Overseas Training in the UK and/or USA.

The REO will be accountable for the development and implementation of training scenarios related to the nuclear-powered vessels reactor.
This will include: Assisting the DEPR in leading organizational readiness, including:Planning and executing complex training and evaluation events such as interactive workshops, tabletop exercises, ECC exercises, Functional Base Exercises, and Full-Scale DFES Exercises to support training and assessment requirements.Planning and executing tabletop exercises and other events for outreach with civil authorities.Assisting the Nuclear Radiological Emergency Response Organisation (NERO) training plan and ensuring it covers appropriate topics, including assisting the DEPR with developing, proposing, and coordinating the Area Commander's framework for training.Aiding in the design, development, and validation of all NERO training to ensure it is high quality and high-impact.Coordinating the short and long-range scheduling and integration of training between HMAS Stirling NERO and outside support organisations.Maintaining organisational records for audit, analysis, and assessment of training effectiveness and attendance.Application Closing Date: Thursday 28 November 2024
