Regional Driver Supervisor - Internal Opportunity Only Ballarat Permanent, Full-time We are seeking expressions of interest for Regional Driver Supervisor in the Ballarat region.
About the role As a member of Train Services, the Regional Driver Supervisor is responsible for the day to day leadership, supervision and support of Drivers and Practical Driver Trainers and Trainee Drivers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of V/Line revenue services.
Key Accountabilities include: Provide day-to-day leadership and support to Train Drivers and be a mentor for newly qualified drivers.
Manage operational issues, ensuring Drivers are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Partner closely with key stakeholders across the wider operational function and communicate effectively.
Promote strict adherence to policy, procedure, and reporting.
Engage in performance discussions and deliver coaching and guidance to all levels of experience among the driver grades Able to show empathy, compassion and remain objective and focused during incidents and investigations Note – The RDS will be required to drive trains for not less than 10 rostered shifts in a 12-month period in accordance with the relevant Enterprise Agreement and existing customs and practices.
About you You are an experienced and qualified Train Driver with more than 2 years post training experience with V/line.
You have experience across a range of differing situations and set an example for other drivers to follow.
You are calm and able to respond and adapt under pressure during incidents.
You are performance-driven and look for opportunities to innovate and drive change.
You work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver the objectives of Train Services.
With a strong sense of safety, you thrive by helping others achieve their best and promote a positive, customer- focused output.
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience and demonstrate the following: You are a driving subject matter expert with a minimum of two years' driving experience with V/Line and have broad exposure across a variety of scenarios and situations.
You ideally hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment and/or Cert IV in Frontline Management - advantageous but not mandatory.
You are a mentor for newly qualified drivers and set a high standard of driving at all times.
You maintain strict adherence to policy, procedure, and reporting and have an incident-free driving record over the past 2 years.
You are performance-driven, look for ways to innovate and demonstrate leadership qualities in your role.

This position will be paid $93.44 per hour in line with the V/Line Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023.

The selection process may include aptitude assessments , behavioural or scenario-based interviews, stage 10 promotional assessment and a medical risk category 1 check The merit-based process will take into account your prior experience, your performance in the interviews and consideration of the attributes you demonstrate in your day-to-day role.
This role may include more than one interview.
