The City of Karratha is seeking a proactive and experienced Rangers & Emergency Management Coordinator to provide expert leadership and guidance across our Rangers and Emergency Management teams.In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality services aligned with legislative requirements, Council policies, and procedures. You'll work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders like DFES and WA Police, and the wider community to drive public safety initiatives and emergency preparedness programs.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Guidance: Mentor and support your team to deliver on operational goals, ensuring high performance in law enforcement, emergency management, and community compliance matters.Emergency Management Operations: Oversee Council's obligations under the Emergency Management Act, including risk management, preparedness, and response efforts.Ranger Operations: Serve as an Authorised Officer under relevant legislation, coordinating complex investigations, enforcing local laws, and handling legal proceedings.Community Engagement: Foster a customer-first approach by delivering exceptional service, resolving compliance concerns, and promoting local laws through community education and programs.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Rangers & Emergency Management functions.What You'll Bring:Expertise in Local Government Ranger Services and Emergency Management, with a strong understanding of compliance and statutory requirements.Proven leadership skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team.Experience in bushfire management, response strategies, and legal processes related to local laws and emergency preparedness.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Relevant qualifications in Regulatory Services, Emergency Management, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.Why Join Us?This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the safety and well-being of the community.
