The Walking Track Ranger will maintain the Grampians walking track network, including the Grampians Peaks Trail, focusing on built infrastructure, visitor facilities, and environmental upkeep. The Ranger will undertake activities requiring an understanding of asset management, visitor service, and land management practices and principles.
The role is responsible for delivering a wide variety of works across the Grampians Walking track network including supporting the successful operation of the Grampians Peaks Trail. The primary focus of the position is to maintain built infrastructure and visitor facilities, including signage, maintaining vegetation and drainage infrastructure on walking tracks, servicing and maintenance at remote campsites, as well as visitor engagement.
The position will primarily work in the field and will require a high level of fitness to audit and maintain walking tracks. The Ranger will actively participate in the delivery of area-wide priorities and operate well in a team environment. The Ranger will be adaptable and flexible to on-ground service requirements to ensure exceptional park management and will be accountable for personal performance demonstrating a strong personal work ethic.
