The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 14 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

 
The role
This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to innovation and development, supporting the adoption of new pastoral management technologies. This role is key for the sustainable management of our pastoral land. The Rangelands Officer will travel to and work across regional and remote NAPCo properties to:

Work in collaboration with key operational staff and senior management in the design and implementation of rangeland management systems Deliver annual reporting on land condition trends for every station Provide information to support decision-making Support development and implementation of biodiversity conservation projects Support the engagement of third party stakeholder access to properties 24th May, 2024 About NAPCo

The role

You will be passionate about sustainable agricultural production, be organised, self-motivated and able to work independently, combined with:
Good communication skills with demonstrated ability building relationships with diverse, regionally based stakeholders A current manual Drivers Licence, with experience travelling in regional or remote areas A familiarity with GIS Software or similar (highly desirable) Demonstrated intermediate or above skills using Microsoft Office Suite (particularly excel) Qualifications in Agricultural Science/Environmental Science or similar specialty (desirable but not essential) or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role Frequent travel throughout the year to our Stations is a key requirement of this position. Whilst initially a Brisbane based role, regionally based applicants will be considered.
