We're excited to announce the opportunity to join our Community Development team as a Youth Development Officer. This pivotal role will allow you to collaborate with the community, champion the voices of young people, and drive initiatives that promote connection, resilience, and skill development. Purpose:
The Youth Development Officer plays a key role in promoting the inclusion, wellbeing and development of young people in Randwick City. This role works closely with the community and stakeholders to implement initiatives that build the capacity and resilience of young people, while creating opportunities for them to participate in community life, connect with others, and develop their skills.
About the role:
Undertake a planned and coordinated approach to the development of sustainable community capacity building initiatives and partnerships that ultimately improve the community participation, wellbeing and development of young people. Develop, implement, and promote youth-focused programs, activities and events aligned with Council's strategic objectives, ensuring timelines and objectives are met and the voice of young people is reflected in program design. Establish a referral network to ensure young people have access to information, services and recreation activities that improve wellbeing, community participation and prevent risk of harm. About you:
Relevant experience in community development and capacity building with young people. Comprehensive understanding of the issues faced by young people, the policy landscape and service challenges. Further information:
