The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor (Level 1), you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and advice on building regulations, compliance, and construction-related matters.
You will be working closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, delivering high-quality assessments and inspections on a range of building projects.
This is a senior role that offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact on key projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed building inspections, assessments, and surveys to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on building compliance, defects, and maintenance issues.
Manage complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
Produce accurate and comprehensive reports on building condition, compliance, and recommendations for rectification.
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Mentor and support junior surveyors and assist with professional development.
Requirements:
Registered Building Surveyor (Level 1) with relevant qualifications (Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent).
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in building surveying, with a strong focus on compliance, inspections, and project management.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and Australian Standards.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with industry-standard software and tools for reporting and project management.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and demonstrate initiative in a senior role.
