Rail & Maritime Transport (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Biodiversity Australia is an Environmental Consultancy which brings exciting opportunities for a Rail Corridor Protection Officer for a project based within the Western Downs region.
About the opportunity We are currently looking for a Rail Corridor Protection Officer with a strong commitment to safety to join a Rail Corridor Vegetation Management Field Team for an immediate start. You will be responsible for ensuring safe working practices are adhered to and quality work standards are achieved in accordance with Queensland Rail's Safety Management System and Safeworking procedures.
This position is always in the field; therefore, you must be happy to work in a variety of weather conditions.
This is a long-term project, and therefore we are seeking a committed team.
About you The following are a requirement: Manual Car LicenceAbility to pass a police checkRIW cardQR - Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC)The following requirements/skills are highly desirable but not essential: ACDC LicenceExperience/interest in identification of species both native and weedsExperience & knowledge in the use of handling a variety of agricultural chemicalsConservation Land Management Cert II, III or higher (preferred) (now called conservation and ecosystem)Experience with equipment operations & maintenance such as zero turn mowers, chainsaws, brush-cutters etc.
