Be part of the wider Regional Bushfire & Emergency Management (BEM) Team responsible for maintaining the capability required to meet readiness and response arrangements for bushfires on public land.
As the Radio Technician, you will coordinate maintenance, installation, and development of fire program radio communications equipment within the Port Phillip Region including fixed infrastructure, mobile and portable units across towers, antennas, offices, vehicles, and fire ground equipment.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/QualificationsGood knowledge and understanding of the Departments radio communications requirements and the requirements of fire and emergency management, together with an understanding of the type of systems utilised by the department.Experience with radio configuration and equipment specific network systems that DELWP utilise.Understanding of the application of theoretical concepts of radio network coverage and interaction with other networks and terrain.Experience in radio installation and repairs in vehicles, plant, equipment, offices and towers across the State.This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Knoxfield with hybrid work arrangements available.
