YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE Bendigo is Peter Mac's only rural Victorian campus providing radiation therapy services to the Loddon Mallee region.
A permanent full-time position for a Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist at Bendigo is now available.
This role supports, coordinates, and leads clinical innovation at Bendigo working in consultation with clinical leads and clinical coordinator across all Peter Mac campuses.
At Bendigo Peter Mac, you will enjoy the opportunity to work with the latest technology, including Varian Truebeam Linacs, AlignRT, and Eclipse treatment planning system, to treat a wide variety of cases including an active SABR and SRS workload.
The successful applicant will provide expertise and leadership in technical aspects of service delivery, provide patient-focused radiation therapy planning & treatment, and develop and maintain a positive and safe work environment.
A key element of the role is supporting the RTS Campus Manager in the coordination of service delivery.

Position Summary Support, coordinate, and lead clinical innovation within the site.Work in consultation with clinical leads and clinical coordinator across all sites.
Monitor policy and procedural compliance and propose revisions for consideration by all sites.Provide expertise and leadership in technical aspects of service delivery.Provide patient-focused radiation therapy planning & treatment.Develop and maintain a positive and safe work environment.Support the RTS Site Manager in the coordination of service delivery.Key Accountabilities Patient/Customer Focused Services: Maintains efficient and effective allocation of resources to support clinical demands.
Acts in a professional manner at all times ensuring established patient care standards are maintained.
Explores opportunities to maximize access through clinical innovation and management.
Ensures appropriate information and support is available to patients to meet their needs and expectations.
Works collaboratively with all disciplines to ensure patient's needs are addressed in a timely manner.Radiotherapy planning and treatment: Undertakes radiation therapy planning and/or treatment responsibilities, contributing to daily service delivery.
Maintains current clinical skills and knowledge.
Provides an expert resource for staff to support clinical innovation.
Responsible for the technical application of radiation therapy procedures.
Practices safe manual handling techniques while ensuring the safety of others.
Ensures departmental policies and established work practices are maintained within the unit.
Supports and contributes to problem-solving, procedural development, and documentation.
Supports the Grade 4 RTs to ensure qualified radiation therapists have appropriate and sufficient clinical instruction.
Contributes to the strategic plan for clinical innovation which aligns with the strategic directions of RTS.
Manages and prioritizes resources effectively to work within defined timeframes.
Participates in, delegates, and coordinates administrative procedures that support departmental activity.Teamwork & Communication: Enables development of effective departmental teams through appropriate and effective interpersonal behavior.
Effectively leads workplace teams to achieve organizational goals.
Ensures the team is aware of roles and responsibilities.
Supports RTS site manager to integrate and enact departmental performance development processes and outcomes.Professional Development: Continually develops both personally and professionally to meet the changing needs of the profession.
Demonstrates an awareness of current and future trends in radiation therapy.
Identifies, and in association with RTS Site Manager, facilitates professional development opportunities for staff.
Undertakes mentoring and development activities to facilitate an effective learning experience for clinical staff.Education: Coordinates training of staff in implementation of new technologies.
Assists and participates in staff education and development.
Collaborates with the Education Lead & RTS Site Manager to meet the educational needs of other staff groups.Research: Collaborates with the research and development team to enable local research and publication activities.
Supports the development and integration of research and clinical trials into practice where possible.Quality: Maintains radiation safety requirements as designated by the PMCC Radiation Safety policy and Radiation Safety Officer or local delegate.
Collaborates with the Quality coordinator to ensure frameworks and structures are in place at local levels to support quality in current practice and any proposed innovation.
