About the Role:
The Medical Physics and Radiation Engineering (MPRE) department at Canberra Health Services is composed of medical physics specialists in radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and radiology. The team is responsible for safety and quality in the use of medical radiation, contributing technical and scientific support to clinical and research staff.
The successful applicant will learn and contribute to the delivery of state-of-the-art radiotherapy for our cancer patients. Equipment includes three Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and a Varian Edge linear accelerator. We use the Aria oncology information system which is cloud hosted. Other treatment services include superficial x-ray therapy and brachytherapy.
Our team participates in Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Cooperative Group (TROG) trials, and the department is accredited to train diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology medical physics registrars.
