Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.
The Opportunity:
Our Shared Services team is excited to offer a rare opportunity for an Accounts Assistant on a 12-month contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial sustainability of our industry through precise and timely financial processing, including but not limited to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
This role supports all Racing Victoria (RV) entities participating in RV's Shared Service initiative.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in the timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable data into Finance Systems and ensure timely and accurate payment of suppliers. Ensure data integrity by verifying that invoices are appropriately authorised and GST compliant before processing. Integrate data from external sources into Finance Systems. Assist in the creation, monitoring, and updating of Accounts team policy and procedures documentation. Process, verify, and post receipts for goods sold or services rendered, including invoice production. Administer the collection process from debtors, including the timely follow-up of overdue amounts, and maintain records regarding payments and account status. Research and resolve account discrepancies, ensuring accurate production of debtor reports. Assist with supplier inquiries. About You:
