ABOUT THE ROLE Weatherford Malaga, Perth is seeking a full-time permanent Workshop Technician I - ISDT . The Workshop Technician will carry out duties and responsibilities of day-to-day operations of the Intervention Services and Drilling Tools through the maintenance, servicing, testing and assembly of Weatherford equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out servicing, assembly and testing work on Weatherford Intervention Services and Drilling Tools equipment and third-party equipment in accordance with Weatherford quality management system. Identify re-work, inspection, and repair work to ensure that ISDT equipment is readily available for allocation to specific jobs. Active participation and contribution to specific safety initiatives. Comply with all the requirements outlined in the 5S Standard Policy. 5S standards shall be incorporated into all processes, operations, and / or tasks performed in the workplace. Available on a 24-hour call basis if required to respond to customer needs. Always maintain work area in a clean and safe manner to prevent any incidents/accidents. Through training and experience develop an in-depth knowledge of tool functionality and how they relate to Intervention Services and Drilling Tools systems. Maintain a level of cleanliness and tidiness in the office, shop, and yard to promote a positive corporate image and to provide an acceptable workplace for employees. Ensure that cranes, forklifts, and other vehicles are operated in a safe manner and daily inspections carried out as per Weatherford procedures. Recommend measurers to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Strong mechanical work experience on heavy equipment is required (ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics etc.) Working knowledge and experience on mechanical line works. Workshop environment in the resource industry. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION High School Diploma or Certificate Basic computer skills Basic Mathematics PREFERRED QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Forklift ticket Dogman's Ticket Previous experience working in a busy workshop in similar roles. Experience in LEAN practices would be beneficial. Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles. Basic knowledge of oilfield equipment. REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic tools. Fast learner, results oriented and independent with strong interpersonal skills. Good QHSE procedural knowledge. Good communication skill. Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, monitoring of equipment. Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving. Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement, and Decision-making to be in line with policies AND procedures. Time management. Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards. Capable to meet the physical demands that the role requires. Information & task ordering & ability to identify when a problem may occur and where possible to understand solution. Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery. Ability to imagine how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair or modifications.
