As the Manager Administration and Finance, you will specifically:
Coordinate the preparation of annual estimates, centre budget, cashflows and expenditure targets for each financial year and advise on the budget allocation process for the Wacol Youth Remand Centre.
Monitor and report on Wacol Youth Remand Centre expenditure and performance against budget targets and develop remedial strategies where required and prepare annual submissions for capital investment and maintenance schedules and monitor their implementation.
Prepare plans for audit, stock takes, spot-checks, records management and archiving for the Wacol Youth Remand Centre, and monitor their implementation.
Ensure best practice financial management, oversee the administrative accounting functions of the Wacol Youth Remand Centre and ensure compliance with the Financial Accountability Act (2009), Financial Management Standards, and the Departmental policy and procedures.
Coordinate accounts payable and receivable as well as the development and implementation of appropriate financial procedures and practices.
Coordinate infrastructure issues including building maintenance, service issues, defects and fire and communications systems ensuring an effective interface of those systems with the operation of the Centre.
Develop and manage systems and processes to support reporting on assets, finance, and other administrative issues for the Wacol Youth Remand Centre.
Manage, supervise, and develop staff in the provision of services to the centre encompassing areas including finance, administration, stores, laundry, kitchen, maintenance and cleaning.
Oversee the administration of Wacol Youth Remand Centre stores, food services, and maintenance of the centre's Asset Register.
Coordinate acquisition, disposal and maintenance of the department's physical assets (other than land and buildings) in a cost-effective manner which minimises life-cycle costs and maximises the utility of the asset to the Department's core business.
Manage the Centres' information and records systems.
Participate as an effective member of the centre's management team in the development, promotion and implementation of Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support strategic direction, and the Centre's operational plans.
