NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION COMPANY DESCRIPTION Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
REPORTING The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager of Protemp. He or she is responsible for managing the operations and quality of the department, focusing on continuous improvement of product and service quality.
Afternoon Shift: Mon-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am
RESPONSIBILITIES: Support operational functions. Achieve best practice environments via heightened process control, standards, and communication. Focus on improvement from sustainable solutions and systems.Participate in external auditsPerform regular process and product auditsParticipate in product testingPrepare and control QMS documentation (instructions, alerts, procedures, etc.)Schedule and lead corrective actions; maintain task momentum and own outcomesAnalyze/report data and trendingProvide customer and technical supportDevelop and implement short- and long-term solutions to operational deficiencies and opportunitiesMaintain communication boards/toolsAssist in the training and educating of team membersCommunicate and track Quality related issuesPerform internal calibrations, arrange external calibrationsAttend production meetingsAny other duties assigned by managementAs the Quality Technician, you will play a key role in modelling and recognizing our core values. Develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers, contractors and stakeholders.QUALIFICATIONS: 2-3 years Quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment certified to national/international standards (e.g. ISO, TS, etc.)Experience with common manufacturing philosophies/tools (Lean, 5S, 8D, SPC, PPAP, FMEA)Internal auditor certification preferredExperience with inspection equipment and tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, etc.)Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong level of responsibility and driveVery strong written/verbal communication and Microsoft Office skillsVery strong attention to detail and organizational skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
