The Role
The Test Analyst is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid work flexibility from our North Sydney HQ. This role sits within our technology team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test cases to validate application performance, functionality, and overall readiness for product releases. The Test Analyst is also responsible for investigating and documenting defects raised by internal and external stakeholders.
Job Description The Role in Practice
Being the Test Analyst and Champion for the testing solutions will mean supporting both internal and external customers and assisting the sales teams with your subject matter expertise. This will include:
Ensure Testing Quality Across Phases: Perform unit testing for CMS, BI, and pipelines to verify functionality and data integrity; conduct regression testing to ensure no disruption to existing features. Collaborate with Developers: Work with development teams to address issues discovered during testing phases. Create and Manage Test Plans: Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and cases for manual and some automated testing. Execute Testing and Reporting: Perform detailed test execution, tracking progress, and reporting results to stakeholders. Support UAT Sessions: Facilitate User Acceptance Testing, support users, document feedback, and ensure fixes meet user requirements. Perform Smoke Testing: Run smoke tests in production environments to validate critical application functions and address issues promptly. Defect Monitoring and Management: Identify, replicate, and document defects across Salesforce, email systems, and other platforms, supporting triage and resolution. Impact Assessment and Prioritization: Accurately assess defect impacts and collaborate with product owners for prioritization and resolution. Continuous Collaboration: Partner with product owners and stakeholders to refine requirements and recommend testing process improvements. Promote Continuous Improvement: Participate in retrospectives, contributing to lessons learned and enhancing quality assurance practices. Desired Skills and Experience Who Are You?
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Software testing certification is a bonus. Experience: Proven track record in software testing, including unit, regression, and UAT testing. Hands-on experience with SQL, data pipelines, BI systems, Salesforce (or similar CRM), and Agile/Scrum methodologies is desirable. Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira), excellent communication, and the ability to write concise documentation. Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.
