Metro Trains Melbourne are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Systems Specialist to join and work within our Systems and Quality team.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Systems & Quality, you will work closely with the Quality Manager and more widely across the business engaging with key stakeholders to simplify and integrate MTM's ISO and Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) certified management systems into a single integrated management system aligning with business needs, whilst also driving continuous improvement opportunities & initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Lead the consolidation of MTM's various management systems into single integrated management system.
Maintain and continuously improve the Business Classification Schema (BCS) within Objective CMS that supports the company needs and simplification of the Management System.
Define the minimum requirements of MTM controlled document structure and company templates to align with multiple management system requirements.
Definition and categorization of MTM controlled document types.
Provide fundamental document type content and authoring/editorial advice to the business in support of controlled document quality.
Provide document quality assurance through regular sample auditing of documents and providing constructive feedback to the document owners and QA Manager in line with continuous improvement principals and ensure consistent messaging across the business (including security classification of documents).
In conjunction with the QA Manager look at legislation, standard and risk-based document review, and update cycles.
Consult with the QA Manager and identify Content Management System improvements. Lead workshops (if required) with the key stakeholders to identify value add system improvements.
Provide regular progress reports on set tasks as specified by the General Manager Systems and Quality.
About You
A tertiary qualification in Business or a Technical field, with qualifications or training in document writing.
Minimum three years leading integration of management systems, with expertise in ISO 9001 and familiarity with ISO 14001/45001/55001.
Knowledgeable in process-focused document standards, methodology, writing, and publishing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in complex organizational settings.
Experience advising on integrated management systems, document structure, and quality across diverse business environments.
Ability to think systematically and strategically to achieve goals effectively.
Works well collaboratively and builds strong relationships with stakeholders.
