Role The Quality Officer at SW will play a vital role in ensuring that food safety and quality compliance is maintained in accordance with both Company and industry standards. This role also carries responsibility for the technical compliance of SW and private label packaged goods in the marketplace. Duties include (but are not limited to): Food Safety and Quality Systems & Processes Review and maintain the Policies, Procedures and documentation of the Food Safety and Quality Management System and support continuous improvement and training of this framework. Maintain currency and ensure compliance with Australian and international food legislation and labelling requirements, including GMP and HACCP standards. Conduct, document and report on routine internal audits. Document, conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions for internal and external non-conformances. Participate in third party audits. In collaboration with the operations team, conduct staff training as required. Support operational staff in maintaining quality KPIs. Engage with and foster a positive food safety and quality culture with all levels of staff. Support customer experience through investigation of and response to complaints and other feedback. Participate in product quality improvement and new product development activities. Sample registrations and analysis. Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Science or equivalent. Experience in a Quality role within the food or similar manufacturing industry. Meticulous approach and attention to detail. Experience with GFSI and retailer quality systems. Experience in food safety and quality auditing. Ability to conduct effective training. Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster and support a team approach. Preparedness to work flexible hours when required. Desirable Trained internal food safety auditor. Meet formal HACCP training requirements. Knowledge of Halal and Kosher programs.
