Please note that current staff wishing to be considered for secondment to this position must seek prior approval from their supervisor before submitting an application.Who are we looking for?We are seeking a Quality Manager to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.The BRF Quality Manager provides leadership and management of the quality related systems and operations at the Mackay Bioinnovation Pilot Plant.
This includes providing technical expertise and leadership to design, establish and operate food grade quality systems within large scale food grade PC2 precision fermentation facilities.
The application of specialist knowledge of regulatory requirements for food and microbial manufacturing will be key to the role.The Quality Manager will drive engagement with researchers, collaborators and industry partners to achieve quality related outcomes.
In addition, the position will provide leadership of the facility in planning future capabilities aligned with QUT's research priorities.The Quality Manager will work within a diverse, multi-skilled team to deliver quality systems at the forefront of innovation at Mackay Bioinnovation Pilot Plant and also at other BRF facilities.

The Facility's physical footprint spans across QUT's Gardens Point campus, Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct, and Mackay Bioinnovation Pilot Plant (MBPP)..What you need to succeedEducation, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience in the development of quality systems in complex environments.Extensive knowledge and experience of the development, operation and continuous improvement of quality management systems, such as HACCP and food manufacturing, GMP and OGTR.Experience in developing quality manuals, quality assurance plans, standard operating procedures, audit schedules and checklists, non-conformance plans, product specifications, quality control protocols, critical control point and quality dossiers within a technical environment.Evidence of innovative approaches to problem solving and contribution to continuous improvement in processes through future-focused thinking.Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills to deliver positive outcomes for internal and external stakeholders, including managing the complexities of a quality management system to support good manufacturing practice within a large research-intensive university.Life at QUTWe're committed to building a culture that fosters connection between people and purpose.
