Coordinator Plumbing Inspector Regulatory Services Permanent Full time LGO 6 / IFA – $96,171 - $110,138 plus superannuation Hervey Bay At Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our purpose of Building Better Communities Together.
What we are looking for: Due to internal progression the role of Coordinator Plumbing Inspector has become available.
The role will manage Plumbing Assessment, Certification and Regulatory functions of Fraser Coast Regional Council in accordance with Council's business objectives and in accordance with the Plumbing and Drainage Act and other statutory requirements in respect of plumbing, drainage and on-site sewerage matters.
What your day will look like: Your focus will be to coordinate and lead the Plumbing Services Team to ensure delivery of services, mentoring and developing the team whilst supporting the Manager of Development Compliance and Plumbing Services in statutory approval requirements.
Your expert advice will see you liaise with a number of stakeholders from property owners to State Government agencies including the Queensland building and construction commission, regarding compliance legislative matters.
You will also facilitate and coordinate high level investigations and monitor investigations of breaches of the Plumbing and Drainage Act using Council management systems, including assessing risk, determining response times and allocating appropriate resources.
Coordinate the processing and determination of Plumbing and Drainage applications and coordinate inspection programs for plumbing applications and notifiable work lodgements.
Represent the council at industry forums, and continuously seek efficiencies and improvements in the department.
What you'll need for success: Current Plumbers and Drainers license issued by QLD Building and Construction Commission.
Extensive Experience as a Plumbing Inspector Extensive post trade experience in plumbing and drainage Endorsements for backflow and on-site sewerage maintenance, or the ability to readily obtain Demonstrated expert working knowledge of the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018, The Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2019, relevant plumbing codes and standards, local laws and sound understanding of the Planning Act Demonstrated experience in the assessment and certification of plumbing applications for Class 2-9 buildings in accordance with legislation, codes and standards Proven ability to lead and motivate staff within the Regulatory / Investigative fields High level of oral and written communication skills Interpersonal – listening, advising and negotiation skills.
People Management – lead, motivate, coach.
Written – correspondence and reports.
