Permanent role Sydney based position Career growth and development How will I help? As the QA/Test Lead, you will oversee all quality assurance deliverables.
Your role will encompass comprehensive test planning, scoping, strategy development, and ensuring the quality delivery of digital solutions within the company.
The QA/Test Lead is part of the Digital Origination & Servicing team within the Cash and Transactional Banking Domain.
The core responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):
Be accountable for all Quality assurance deliverables for the agile Release Train. Leading and mentoring a team of quality assurance engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest level of performance and productivity. Developing, implementing, and managing quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and customer requirements. Collaborate with project team and other stakeholders to define quality requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria from a testing perspective. Participate in programme-level discussions for rapid assessment, backlog prioritisation, and planning testing activities. Be responsible to produce Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Completion reports for to align with programme release plans and delivery methodology. Manage the test information repository (Confluence), governance, quality controls across squads and at an Agile train level. Manage and forecast the resourcing requirements for the overall release train. Establishing and maintaining communication with all stakeholders internal and external. Set up quality assurance reporting and dashboards that can be used for reporting and to analyse to identify patterns, root causes and opportunities for continuous improvements. Streamline quality assurance engineering practices and process across the release train. Managing the environment and data requirements for project/releases, and planning and organising them accordingly. Support the test leads within the squads manage the secondary testing and support engagements and manage dependencies with project teams, external vendors, and external teams. Support the test leads within the squads with Defect management, including participation/driving the defect triage calls. Be accountable for setting up squad level and project/program/release level status reports and dashboards. Provide quality assurance inputs into Program Increment (PI) planning, including test effort estimation. Provide quality assurance inputs to release planning and production implementation. Leading the design development and implementation of automated test frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes and improve test efficiency and coverage. Be accountable for setting up the Test Automation roadmap for the release train and make sure that it is executed successfully. Planning and prioritisation of automation efforts based on project/release work and availability of resources. Conducting regular reviews and assessments of automation framework and scripts to ensure relevance, quality, reliability, and maintainability. Monitoring and analysing test automation metrics and results to identify issues and improvements. Keep up to date with latest technological advances in test automation and industry trends and incorporating them into the release train. Accountable for ensuring that Quality Engineering team members are trained and upskilled in QA practices as well as automation tools and frameworks used within the teams.
What do I need? To be successful in this role, you need to have the following skills, education & personal attributes.
Technical and Industry Expertise: Minimum of 12+ years of experience within the Quality Assurance, with at least 5 years of experience of experience as Test Lead/Manager. Well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels (including external and internal Suppliers).
This includes proven experience building successful relationships across teams and suppliers to effectively manage critical path dependencies and escalations. Strong technical and analytical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment. Experience in designing and implementing test automation solutions is highly desirable. Solid understanding of testing tools like Playwright, Selenium and Postman will be of great advantage.
Experience in one or more Agile methods, including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.
Professional Agile certification is highly desired. Experience in QA/Test management in an Agile-Waterfall development environments. Demonstrated ability to build, implement and direct quality assurance principles and maintain the quality of delivery. Knowledge of all quality areas including performance, security, accessibility, and operational acceptance. Substantial experience working in a large and complex organisation in the financial services or banking industry. What is it like to work there?
