Protech are looking for a Quality Coordinator to join our client on the Newlands Closure Project (previously Newlands Mine) on a contract basis.
Reporting directly to the Tailings & Governance Manager, this role supports the Quality Management System (QMS) to lead the way in the exciting, evolving field of mine closure and rehabilitation.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid organisational skills and a good handle on Microsoft tools to step into a dynamic role that will help shape the future of mining.
BENEFITS: 9 Day fortnightDay Shift onlyOngoing positionCamp & Meals providedWeekly paysFriendly and Progressive TeamMine close to Mackay/Whitsunday regionABOUT THE ROLE: Purpose: The Quality Coordinator will help the Newlands Closure Project meet its closure goals by supporting quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes.
You'll keep everyone on track with quality standards, manage essential records, and support Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)—all while making sure we're hitting the high standards of the project.
Help Teams Follow Standards and ProcessesWork with project teams to ensure they're following the established quality documents, standards, and specifications.Provide easy-to-understand guidance to keep everyone aligned with quality requirements.Manage Registers and RecordsKeep quality registers and records up to date in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.Organise information so it's simple to access for audits and reports.Support Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)Make minor adjustments to ITPs for specific tasks when needed—no need to create anything from scratch.Collect and organise data to support these ITPs, like photos or completion notes, to keep everything documented.Collect and Manage Quality DataGather data that supports quality checks and aligns with project goals.Help create straightforward quality reports to show progress and track any areas for improvement.Be a Friendly Resource for TeamsAct as a go-to person for team members with questions about quality processes.Work closely with the Tailings & Governance Manager to keep things organised, focused, and in line with our closure goals.ABOUT YOU: Experience with quality coordination or similar roles, ideally within mining, construction, or related fields.Good organisational skills and comfort with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint).Familiarity with Australian safety and quality standards, including ISO and Coal Mining Safety and Health regulations, is a plus.A proactive and positive attitude, ready to support a new and evolving area in the mining industry.An understanding of mining related skills/competencies (e.g.
Standard 11, Health Assessments, Training Transcripts, RII Competencies, EWP, Work at Heights, Confined Space, etc.
