About the opportunity
The Quality Control Microbiologist will perform Microbial Content testing of raw materials and Water in compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations.
Duties Perform Microbiological testing using techniques like Membrane filtration, pour plate, and Spread plate Assist with preparation, review and update of Standard Operating Procedures for testing Perform Microbial plate reading and microbial identification Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained/prepared in accordance with approved procedures Perform growth promotion testing of media plates and cassettes General laboratory housekeeping and ordering of consumables Perform result entry/authorisations in Laboratory Information Management System Planning and implementation of small projects for compliance and efficiency gains Perform sterilisation of equipment using Autoclave Participate in investigation of out of specification results as required Use of Microsoft Office applications and internal documentation and Quality systems Skills and Experience Degree in Microbiology or Science with further studies in Microbiology Knowledge or working experience with Microbial content testing and microbial enumeration Inventory management using SAP Experience within the pharmaceutical industry Strong pipetting skills and aseptic techniques Good knowledge of the TGA (PICs) and FDA requirements Strong GDP and GLP knowledge Ability to work alone or with a small team and communicate effectively Ability to problem solve, investigate historical data & trends and be a critical thinker Culture
