About the opportunity
The Quality Control Microbiologist will perform Microbial Content testing of raw materials and Water in compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations.

Duties Perform Microbiological testing using techniques like Membrane filtration, pour plate, and Spread plateAssist with preparation, review and update of Standard Operating Procedures for testingPerform Microbial plate reading and microbial identificationEnsure equipment and facilities are maintained/prepared in accordance with approved proceduresPerform growth promotion testing of media plates and cassettesGeneral laboratory housekeeping and ordering of consumablesPerform result entry/authorisations in Laboratory Information Management SystemPlanning and implementation of small projects for compliance and efficiency gainsPerform sterilisation of equipment using AutoclaveParticipate in investigation of out of specification results as requiredUse of Microsoft Office applications and internal documentation and Quality systems Skills and Experience Degree in Microbiology or Science with further studies in MicrobiologyKnowledge or working experience with Microbial content testing and microbial enumerationInventory management using SAPExperience within the pharmaceutical industryStrong pipetting skills and aseptic techniquesGood knowledge of the TGA (PICs) and FDA requirementsStrong GDP and GLP knowledgeAbility to work alone or with a small team and communicate effectivelyAbility to problem solve, investigate historical data & trends and be a critical thinker Culture
