About the OPPORTUNITY We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Practitioner/Engineer to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne, Adelaide.
You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, and will be employed on a permanent full time basis.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and a hybrid working environment.
BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy.
The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
Key responsibilities include: Perform a range of quality assurance activities, ensuring quality practices are being effectively deployed Conduct quality internal process audits and health checks and provide support with corrective and preventative actions Provide coaching, advice and support to stakeholders on quality assurance related matters and processes Contribute and demonstrate an understanding to the quality policies, strategies, objectives and processes in your day-to-day work Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture Support and implement continuous improvement and quality assurance improvement activities Contribute to the management and effectiveness of the Business Management System Conduct Quality Investigations About YOU Quality Assurance experience – Individuals with experience in shipbuilding, engineering or in a relevant field, will also be considered An understanding of Quality, Safety, Environmental & Asset Management Standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 55001) and practices Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to develop reports and documents Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build good relationships with a range of stakeholders Whilst not essential, a Lead Auditor qualification or a relevant technical qualification, or Maritime industry experience, will be highly regarded We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
