1. Develops and implements the policies, framework, strategies and practices of the Canadian Coast Guard College's (CCGC) quality assurance (QA) program with the aim of standardizing and improving the quality of course development and delivery for the organization.
2. Plans and performs quality assurance internal and external audits in order to ensure a consistent training framework for instructors in all CCGC training programs, including distance learning.
3. Develops and implements post-training assessments and course evaluation processes, communicating results and recommendations to Superintendents and Instructors as appropriate.
4. Conducts research in the fields of academic excellence and curriculum evaluation to identify methods and techniques related to education and training.
5. Supports Maintenance and Management of Quality Management Systems.
Work environment The Canadian Coast Guard College is a national maritime training facility located on scenic Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It's a national college that provides training and services in French and English. It delivers programs to support the College's mission and mandate in marine safety, security and environmental protection.
The college's unique and specialized training is sought after by organizations around the world. Each year, highly trained graduates join their colleagues as Coast Guard officers to provide services that are critical to Canadians.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications) EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant experience working in the field of education, quality assurance, audit or data analysis.
Significant is defined as approximately (3) three years of experience. If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications) CERTIFICATION:
Certification in adult education, quality assurance or auditing. ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Experience working under the requirements of an academic quality assurance program. Experience conducting and reporting audits, and actioning remedial plans. Experience developing, implementing, maintaining and interpreting policy. Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting. Experience in research related to academic excellence and curriculum evaluation. The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job) Various language requirements

Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of pedagogy and andragogy. Knowledge of the Canadian Coast Guard priorities, programs and services across all regions. Knowledge of the core training programs of the Canadian Coast Guard College, as well as the full range of operational training programs delivered elsewhere in the organization. Knowledge of the functions of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Knowledge of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The candidates must agree to carry out overtime and to travel within the framework of their employment.
