A Meat Inspector is required at a red meat processing facility in Echuca to ensure high-quality, safe meat products for Australian families. The successful candidate will have a Certificate IV in Meat Safety, minimum 2 years experience as an Australian Authorised Officer or Meat Inspector, and strong knowledge of food safety and OH&S regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Inspect animal carcasses and parts to ensure products are fit for human consumption, following red meat processing standards.
Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards, hygiene practices, and food safety protocols in red meat processing environments.
Support and collaborate with team members, assisting them in adhering to proper inspection and safety procedures.
Audit and monitor quality procedures at farms and processing facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and hygiene standards.
Complete required paperwork and documentation promptly and accurately.
Advise producers on disease prevention and the implications of contaminants on health and safety.
Ensure compliance with quarantine and pest management regulations when examining animals and products.

Certificate IV in Meat Safety
Minimum of 2 years experience as an Australian Authorised Officer or Meat Inspector in a red meat processing environment
Ovine (sheep) inspection experience is essential
Ability to pass a National Police Check
Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol tests
Q Fever vaccination or willingness to undergo the vaccination process
Strong knowledge of food safety and OH&S regulations
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
