Quality Assurance & Control (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Ocius Technology is an Australian company that builds autonomous Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). These USVs use the energy of the weather - sun, wind, and waves, to act as persistent monitoring and communications platforms. We are embarking on an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.
The Function The Chief Operating Officer function delivers Customer, Operations, Production, Maintenance, Safety and Strategic Projects. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the company strategic direction and unlocking Ocius's operational effectiveness.
The Role The Manager - Quality Assurance will be responsible for owning all aspects of Quality - developing and managing the quality assurance program for the Company. This is an opportunity for someone to make their mark in Quality, with a successful company.
Summary of Key Responsibilities Own all aspects of Quality to support production of high-quality USV products. Lead and own the Quality Management System with a sustainable path to maintain AS9100 certification. Lead and own manufacturing quality to improve yields and reliability across the product lifecycle. Own and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for Quality across the organisation. Provide technical leadership and, where necessary, mentor personnel to foster skill development and a consistent understanding of business, technical, and planning goals. Represent the organisation externally in a professional manner as required. In consultation, identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across teams. Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Ocius policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times. Qualification and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field. 8+ years of relevant experience working with suppliers and manufacturing operations building complex hardware and software systems. 5+ years' experience working in an AS9100 regulated environment / experience as an auditor for AS9100 or other ISO 9001-based QMS standard. Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality within the maritime/defense, automotive, or technical product fields. Proven record in strategy and execution of Quality Management Systems in a certified AS9100 enterprise. Working knowledge of product development methodologies. Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance. Benefits of working with us Cutting edge research and development is our bread and butter! Security Requirements Given the sensitive nature of our work and the sector in which we operate, candidates for this role must be Australian citizens and possess, or be eligible to obtain, an NV1 security clearance. This clearance process entails a thorough verification of your identity, integrity, and credentials to ensure your suitability for advancement to the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
