Seeking Quality Assurance Engineers to support a Federal Government Agency as a Quality Assurance Engineer. Successful candidate can work in any of the ff onsite location: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney As the Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating various aspects of the operational system, with a focus on security, functionality, performance, usability, and compliance, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of the Digital ID technology solution.
You will work with others responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving the Branch's technology solutions by helping to ensure testing effort is well aligned with the quality outcomes of the branch.
You will utilise various automated testing tools and techniques to confirm that systems and services function as specified, while also validating the operating environment, tools and processes are behaving appropriately.
Key responsibilities for the roleAs the Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
Develop acceptance criteria for functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, features, user stories and business rules. Design and execute test cases and scenarios to ensure products, systems and services fulfil acceptance criteria and deliver the expected business benefits. Work with project team members to ensure comprehensive test coverage. This will include discussing potential improvements and analysing and communicating the results of testing activities. Provide guidance to support the proper use of methods and tools, tailoring processes in accordance with standards, reviewing usage and suggesting improvements. Assess system behaviour against provided requirements and characteristics through both manual and automated testing. Employ specific tools to evaluate user experiences, ensuring security, usability and accessibility requirements have been met. Ensure alignment with established policies, standards, regulations and manage audits related to compliance. You will be required to communicate the results with branch stakeholders to improve compliance of the technology solutions where necessary. Ensure changes are thoroughly tested, meet quality standards, and are seamlessly integrated into the system. This will include planning and executing tests, conducting regression, functional, security, performance testing, and working closely with the development teams. Actively participate in software requirements, analysis, and design phases to provide continuous quality feedback. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Developers and other stakeholder to ensure the solutions meet the requirements and expectations of the end users. Work closely with developers to understand technical aspects of features and changes. Collaborate with cyber security teams to align testing efforts with security objectives. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in:
Software quality assurance testing. Software development, particularly in agile environments. Understanding of industry leading practices in quality assurance and testing. Developing and executing Load Tests for various web technologies. A solid understanding and hands-on experience developing and executing RESTful API Tests. Test automation frameworks and tools. Microsoft DevOps – any experience with DevOps testing related features is preferable. Programming, preferably with C# and the .NET framework at high competency level. JavaScript frameworks are also preferable, particularly React. Authentication and Authorisation frameworks and testing with them (e.g. OAuth and OIDC). Developing, auditing and reviewing code. Candidates must also hold, or have the ability to attain, a minimum of a Baseline Security Clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
