The main purpose of the Cost Control Lead is to optimise project success by delivering against agreed program objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Track actual costs against budgeted figures and analyze variances.
Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for stakeholders.
Develop and implement cost control procedures to monitor and manage project expenses.
Understanding and knowledge of cost control systems like Eco Sys, Prism, etc.
Establish and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
Lead the preparation of cost estimates and support bid proposals.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and project contract requirements.
Develop and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track project performance.
Analyze project data to calculate EVM metrics.
Prepare reports based on EVM metrics to provide insights into project progress and performance.
Qualifications Must be an Australian Citizen and able to work in Adelaide.- 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5+ years working in a Cost Control/Project Controls role.- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.- Strong knowledge of Cost Control and Project Controls.- Experience working in the infrastructure (marine, shipyards, civil) and Defence sector.- Experience of managing multiple concurrent projects at various stages of delivery.- Experience operating at various stages in the project lifecycle.- Strong stakeholder management skills including coordination and communication.- Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
