YOUR ROLE
The Quality Advisor, based at our Kemps Creek NSW distribution facility (with some travel to Erskine Park from late 2024 onwards), is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality management systems (QMS) supporting our FMCG customer operations. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with food safety standards, quality control for raw materials and finished goods and effective management of critical control points throughout the logistics process.
Additionally, the Quality Advisor will work closely with internal stakeholders and the customer to meet and exceed customer expectations, providing a seamless link between operational activities and quality assurance. This position is crucial in maintaining product integrity, managing temperature-sensitive goods and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
Oversee and improve CEVA's QMS to ensure compliance with food safety and customer quality standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing quality concerns quickly.
Manage environmental controls and conduct internal/external audits to meet HACCP and Australian food safety standards, reducing risks related to spoilage and non-compliance.
Identify and monitor critical control points, applying corrective actions to maintain product quality and prevent contamination.
Coordinate quality inspections for imported goods under the IFIP, ensuring compliance with national standards and liaising with Australian regulatory authorities.
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, enhancing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise defects.
Act as the main customer contact on quality matters, providing updates, addressing concerns, and preparing reports with recommendations for preventive actions.
Develop and deliver training on food safety, quality assurance, and compliance, ensuring staff understand their roles in maintaining high-quality standards.
Proactively manage product quality risks, including implementing contingency plans for recalls or deviations from quality standards.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate has relevant quality experience, underpinned by a qualification in HACCP, Food Safety Supervisor, or Certificate IV in Quality Assurance/Food Safety (or equivalent) together with:
Extensive experience with quality management systems within food logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing sectors.
Proven experience conducting food safety audits and ensuring compliance with Australian licensing requirements.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and critical control points, with a thorough understanding of Australian food safety laws, particularly for imported goods.
Strong data analysis capabilities to evaluate quality performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach, able to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
