JOB OVERVIEWThe Shoalhaven Franchise office of H&R Block is an award-winning business, having won H&R Block Australian franchise of the year or runner up for the last 5 years. We are a CPA practice with 3 offices. We are looking for an Accountant who will provide professional accounting and taxation services & advice for small businesses - companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders as well as SMSFs. Our services also include business set-up, compliance, financial and management reporting, business, and tax-effective strategies. Our clients are based mainly in the Shoalhaven area; however, some are located all over Australia & Overseas. This position requires someone who not only likes to work with numbers but also has the ability to understand what they mean and is able to communicate this with our clients. An integral part of the position includes working with Clients in a relationship role, servicing their needs in a professional and efficient manner. The position also includes MYOB or Xero training and implementation/assistance for our clients.
KEY REQUIREMENTSTertiary accounting qualificationsGood knowledge in small business accounting and tax, preferably with companies and trusts, in a public practice environment, including BAS / IAS, Payroll, STP, managing super obligations.A willingness to learn new skills.MYOB and Xero experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Australian Income Tax.Likes working with people, is a team-player and enjoys variety.A passion for great customer serviceGood attention to detail with accuracy requiring minimal supervision.Multi-tasking, problem-solving and time management skills.High level of computer literacy.Ability to develop client rapport and provide excellent customer service.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.High level of motivation and professionalism.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs listed above.
