South West Hospital and Health Service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to become the Director of Nursing in the Waroona Multipurpose Centre in Charleville, Western Queensland.

The Director of Nursing (DON) has single point accountability for leadership and management of the Waroona Multipurpose Centre, Charleville Western Qld, ensuring the provision of a consumer focused service that meets the legislative standards of care and needs of the facility. The position ensures facility compliance to the Aged Care Standards. The position reports to the Charleville Facility Director of Nursing and will also work with Charleville Campus Management Committee to ensure Strategic Objectives and operational imperatives are met for the Charleville community and wider South West Hospital and Health Service.

Waroona Multipurpose Centre, Charleville, is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:

Our Waroona Multipurpose Centre is a 45-bed residential aged care facility in Charleville with two room types, to cover residents with different need levels. We provide communal activities in our vibrant common room, eating areas, and cozy sitting areas. Our residents enjoy our well-maintained gardens with seating and BBQ areas. All of our rooms are single rooms with ensuite or shared bathrooms, and feature wardrobes, air conditioning, and garden views. We provide low and high level care, including palliative care, 24-hour nursing care, allied health, and regular recreational activities.
