As a fourth-generation family business, Darwalla started producing chickens over 90 years in Mt Cotton, with farms now located in the Redlands, on the Darling Downs and in the Lockyer Valley.

This exciting full-time opportunity will be located at our Mt Cotton Office.
Reporting to the Quality, Safety and Environment Manager, this role presents an opportunity for an experienced and driven QHSE Systems Officer to grow within a dynamic and developing company with a nationally recognized Training Award and State based Safety Awards.
The successful candidate must be hard working, highly motivated and committed, be able to work independently and display a high level of attention to detail.
You will be versatile and hands-on, an effective communicator.
About the role This role will be to monitor and maintain the QHSE systems to meet the needs of the Company's Quality, Safety, Environmental and other legal requirements.
Based in Mt Cotton - QLD, you will be working with the Compliance Officer and the QHSE Manager.
In this new role, you will be managing and maintaining several systems, such as: - Document control system - Traceability and safety system (Onside) - QHSE document and records (SharePoint) - Calibration and inspection of equipment - Chemical Management system (Chemwatch) - Contractor Management system You will be responsible for administering, monitoring and maintaining Darwalla's QHSE Management Systems and standards across multiple company's sites.
You will need to have organisational and planning skills which includes use of computer systems.
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working in a similar role and have a solid understanding of the relevant statutory compliance obligations.
You will enjoy making a contribution as part of a small professional team, demonstrate initiative, as well as a high degree of professionalism in your work.
You will also have strong attention to detail, well-developed communication skills and an ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders.
About you ... - High level of computer literacy - Experience in process mapping and procedure writing - The ability to multi-task and prioritize your time effectively - A high level of motivation and drive to support and coordinate a wider team experience in general coordination and administration support - Attention to detail and systems orientated - A forward-thinking approach to tasks and the ability to be proactive - Ability to positively contribute to a continuous improvement culture - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills You will be a self-starter that is comfortable multi-tasking and will thrive in a fast-paced, challenging yet exciting environment.
Experience - Extensive experience in the implementation and/or maintenance of business management systems, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of quality systems (e.g.
ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001, HACCP), will be advantageous - Extensive experience in QHSE systems - Document Control experience - Strong understanding and advising on compliance frameworks - Possess exceptional conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement systems and processes preferred The poultry industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs.
