About the opportunity
Airbus is seeking applications for a Purchasing Officer supporting the H175 helicopter and other civil helicopters platforms, to join our team in Pinkenba (Brisbane) in a permanent full-time position.
The position will commence from January 2025.
As the Purchasing Officer for Civil Helicopters, your role covers activities related to Purchasing and Freight.
Your responsibilities will include sourcing, purchasing and management of aeronautical related spares and equipment and you will be the focal point to manage day-to-day freight activity within Australia.
This role will also support master data management within SAP as required.
About the role
Reporting to the Team Lead MS&L Back Office (located in Bankstown), and as a member of the Material Support and Logistics function within Civil Helicopters, this position has the responsibility to coordinate and actively improve civil helicopter customer satisfaction.
Some of the activities you can expect to do in your daily work would include:
Purchasing Raise POs for all aeronautical material requirements including: stock collection, MRO, new aircraft customization, spare parts sale, standard exchange and R&O Ensure that all material is purchased on time, cost and quality Manage core return to all suppliers Provide timely feedback and follow up on issues / blockages and communicate to the relevant internal stakeholders and vendors Reviewing open orders and expediting vendor deliveries in accordance with quoted lead-times (backorder follow up) Actioning & administering AOG / Warranties to vendors Liaise with sub-contractors / suppliers for supply of materials, equipment & sub-contract services per customisation & delivery requirements Manage orders for KANBAN items Manage non-conformities with suppliers and return to vendors process Freight Cost coding of all freight invoices and purchase cost variations to inventory and jobs Review and allocation of deferred customs payment statements and temporary imports Provide freight quotes to MRO and new aircraft sales team.
Liaise with freight forwarders and provide update to aircraft delivery manager (new aircraft delivery from factory to desired locations) About you

This role works as an individual contributor based in Brisbane as part of a team scattered across Australia and New Zealand.
The skills and experience suited to this role include:
Demonstrated high level experience with standard computer systems (MS Office, Google Suite, etc.)
High level of purchasing knowledge to enable support for procurement activity in Australia and/or New Zealand Proven purchasing experience and knowledge of end-to-end supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (On Time Delivery, On Time Request) Understanding of purchasing cost drivers and strategies; and how to ensure cost effectiveness Demonstrated experience with freight management / coordination Knowledge of Supply Chain principles - inventory and materials management Broad knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations (e.g.
CASA, EASA, NZCAA, FAA, ITAR, export and import controls), standards and best practices It would also be desirable (although not mandatory) to have experience with SAP or another ERP system, and experience in the Aviation industry.
