As we expand our collection and market presence, we are looking for a motivated and organised Purchasing and Merchandise Planner Agent to join our growing team.
About the Role: As our Purchasing and Merchandise Planner Agent, you will be at the heart of BW Tribal's supply chain and product development. You work closely with local Indigenous artists and international suppliers and manage procurement, inventory, and planning to support our exciting and fast-growing product range. If you have a passion for fashion, homeware and outdoor, a keen eye for trends, and experience in purchasing and merchandising, this role could be your perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with our Creative Director and General Manager to develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with current trends and BW Tribal's cultural and commercial objectives. Manage purchasing orders and liaise with local and international suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of new samples and finished goods. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring competitive rates and sustainable practices that reflect our commitment to ethical production. Plan and forecast inventory levels to meet customer demand, ensuring stock availability across multiple sales channels while optimising cash flow. Oversee the procurement process, including negotiating with suppliers, organising shipping and customs, and managing stocks to avoid stock-outs. Monitor and report on inventory performance, including regular stocktake, and provide insights into trends and consumer demand. Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to align product launches. Stay up-to-date with fashion trends, Indigenous art movements, and market shifts to inform product planning and purchasing decisions. What You'll Bring: Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or merchandise planning, ideally within the fashion or retail industry of a minimum 2-3 years. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain long-term supplier relationships. Highly regarded : Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin , as you will be liaising with Chinese suppliers. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Familiarity with inventory management systems, forecasting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. A proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. A passion for Indigenous culture, fashion, and sustainability. Knowledge of or experience working with Indigenous artists and communities is a plus. Why Join Us?
