Business Development Manager (BDM) – Cybersecurity and IT Solutions

My client is a specialist in delivering innovative cybersecurity solutions and IT consulting services focusing on SMEs and government clients but not excluding all sized companies. With over 130 customers and partnerships with 20 leading vendors, they offer a comprehensive suite of services, including ISO Certification, Penetration Testing, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) solutions, and Security Operations Centre (SOC) support.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing team and focus on outbound sales. You will drive growth by selling the company's full portfolio, which includes cybersecurity software solutions and IT consulting services, such as staffing developers and contractors for onsite roles. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and managing the entire sales process.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and generate new business opportunities across public and private sectors. Drive sales of cybersecurity software and IT consulting services, including placing skilled developers and contractors onsite to meet client needs. Collaborate with senior leadership for presales support to ensure tailored solutions for clients. Expand existing accounts through strategic upselling and cross-selling of software and services. Maintain a robust sales pipeline, meeting KPIs such as five new meetings per month and achieving targeted closure rates. Oversee the sales cycle from initial contact through account management and retention. Your Profile
Proven track record in outbound sales, preferably in IT, cybersecurity, or consulting services. Highly motivated and adaptable, with a hunger for achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong networking and relationship-building skills, particularly with SMEs and government organizations. Familiarity with the cybersecurity landscape or IT services is advantageous but not required. Flexibility to work from any location on the eastern seaboard, with a preference for Melbourne. Why Join the Team?
