About the role This position requires a person with a high level of management and interpersonal skill, with the ability and willingness to co-operate with peers, plus a sound knowledge of freight handling, service orientation and linehaul equipment.
It requires an alert, business-oriented person who is capable of maximising opportunities through timely decision-making, awareness of cost control, innovative thinking and the preparedness to handle all tasks in a conscientious manner.
The position carries a responsibility for all aspects of operations that should be conducted in a safe, efficient and service-oriented environment including overseeing the SA/NT Country Agent Operation. A strong focus on service delivery management, whilst optimising cost structures.
What you'll do Maintain the Company vehicle fleet in accordance with divisional standards including appearance, roadworthiness and maintenance schedules and records maintained.Ensure the smooth daily running of Operations through organising and planning of daily work requirements.Manage all SA/NT Country Agents: Formal and comprehensive agreements are in place, Cost optimisation of all operating costs, Scanning, operational procedure, dangerous goods and security compliance, Business presentation meets Team Global Express Parcel objectives, Service level compliance, Risk minimisation.Direct, lead and motivate the team of employees and contractors.Maintain awareness of competitive and other activities which may have a significant effect on the TGE Priority market.Achieve, or exceed operational budget expectations.Ensure that all employees & contractors are correctly attired in company uniform and generally meeting acceptable appearance standards.Drivers are to be instructed as to what must be loaded, and to the safe and secure methods of accomplishing loading in an efficient and effective manner.Monitor missed pick-ups and scanning performance.What you'll bring Minimum three years' experience working in a leadership role.Sound knowledge of freight handling.Ability and willingness to co-operate with peers.Service orientation and linehaul equipment.Innovative thinking and preparedness to handle all tasks in a conscientious manner.Awareness of effective cost control.Ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems.Defining and meeting service obligations to the client base.Understanding of WH&S policies and legislative requirements.Microsoft Office Suite expertise including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Good knowledge of TGE Express Parcel systems; Salesforce, Data Warehouse, TED, Transend5 and Toll Online.Why TGE We care about our customers, our people, and our planet.
