Public Relations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Public Relations Manager to develop and execute strategic public relations communication plans that will shape and manage the Geely brand image and reputation with consumers and the media.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive trends, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in media relations, campaign management, and brand promotion.
Tasks & Responsibilities Strategic development and planning: Develop and implement PR strategies specifically tailored to the automotive sector that align with corporate objectives and market trends.Media Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with automotive journalists, influencers, and media outlets; proactively pitch stories and manage press releases.Content Creation: Write and edit high-quality press materials, including press releases, blog posts, feature articles, and product information sheets that highlight our brand and vehicles.Event coordination: Plan and execute automotive events, such as vehicle launches, trade shows, and media days; ensure all events reflect the brand's image and messaging.Crisis Communication: Create and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues affecting brand reputation in the automotive industry.Impact Management: Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception.
Integrate measurement and evaluation into communications plans.
Develop insights and outcomes each month to improve communication tactics and performance.Internal Communications: Champion internal communications to ensure that all employees are well-informed about important company news, product launches, and business achievements.
Develop internal newsletters, executive speeches, and talking points to maintain consistent messaging across all internal channels.Industry trends: Stay updated on automotive industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform PR strategies.Agency Management: Oversee the operations, strategies, and agency/client relationship with the PR agency.
Ensure that the agency effectively communicates the brand's messages, manages our reputation, and meets the business objectives of the PR function.Budget Management: Oversee the brand PR agency budget.
Ensure project and campaign budgets are adhered to and resource allocation is optimized across the agency team to ensure the brand's business objectives are efficiently met.Influencer/Ambassador engagement and management: Oversee the agency management of influencer and ambassador relationships to promote brand visibility and drive engagement with key audiences.
Ensure the PR agency is fostering and maintaining positive relationships with ambassadors and influencers.
Work with the agency to define key campaign objectives, messages, and deliverables.WHS Responsibilities: Workplace Health & Safety; Adhere to all WHS requirements and report all WHS issues.
Follow all safety procedures and report all hazards, incidents, and injuries via the incident report form and ensure that this is communicated to HR and the direct manager.Qualification and Skills Required for the Position Education, Training and Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business/Economics/Finance or equivalent desirable.Working Experience: 5 to 7 years in public relations or corporate communications, preferably in Automotive or Consumer Goods, with a strong track record of developing effective corporate communications strategies and campaigns for large companies aimed at diverse audiences.Attributes and Skills:Media Management: Experience managing both reactive and proactive media opportunities.A natural collaborator who thinks creatively, works efficiently, and can influence senior leaders, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.Quick to act and adapt in response to changing demands and environments, with a consultative approach to identifying and acting on opportunities.Proactively identifies and leverages opportunities across communications programs aligning internal and external activities.Outstanding communication skills written and verbal; with the ability to write, edit, and sub-edit various formats, including media releases, statements, and briefing documents.Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, agile and easily adaptable to constant change and evolution.Advanced levels in Microsoft software.
