The Firm & The Role Our client is an award-winning national law firm with a high-profile public law team. Due to growth and new clients, our client is looking to recruit a solicitor at the junior level to Associate level.
This role will see you acting for a broad range of government clients (Federal, State & Local). You will be involved in complex contractual disputes, regulatory enforcement, judicial reviews, hearings before tribunals, merits reviews, FOI matters, insurance/tortious matters, investigations as well as some general commercial litigation.
There is also some advice work, e.g., advising on the powers and functions of a government client, advising on natural justice requirements, drafting recommendations.
You will be given matter and client responsibility and will enjoy running your matters from start to finish. You will also be assisting the partners and more senior lawyers on larger, complex matters. This is an excellent role for the lawyer who enjoys going to court and developing their advocacy skills.
About You The ideal candidate will have:
At least 1 year PAE (and up to Senior Associate level) in the area of public/administrative law Experience as an Associate at the AAT is advantageous Experience in immigration matters is also advantageous Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to undertake teamwork on major matters Ability to juggle competing priorities Enthusiasm, drive, and commitment to client service Benefits & Culture On offer is a generous salary package.
