An exciting fixed term opportunity in our Corporate Affairs team has become available for a Public Affairs advisor. You will support the public affairs team in implementing strategies to enhance Coles' relationships and reputation with local, state and federal governments, particularly with electorate offices and industry stakeholders.This role involves maintaining up to date databases, monitoring policy and political announcements, and facilitating MP engagements including store visits and official Coles events.You'll also:Manage day-to-day administration requirements ensuring continuity of workflow and efficient follow up of queries.Liaise with different internal departments and external contacts.Annual plan of MP engagement based on Public Affairs calendar.Prepare Public Affairs newsletter on a regular basis and distribute to all Federal.Support the Public Affairs team to communicate Coles' positive community achievements with Ministers and Members of Parliament.Support engagement projects with accurate and timely briefing materials.Accountable for individual compliance with company values, policies and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.About you and your skills

• Experience in communications, public policy and/or regulatory affairs, ideally in an MP's office, retail or industry body sector.• Functional understanding of Australian government processes and legislative procedures.• Experience in support roles and document development and database management.• Experience liaising with key stakeholders, particularly parliamentarian's offices.• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Commerce, Economics or a related field.• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.• Ability to analyse complex policy issues and develop recommendations.• High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.• Proactive, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.Take your next step into something bigger, apply now.With us it's not about the discounts (although you do get those), it's about joining a team where your wellbeing and professional development is our investment and celebrating your contributions is the norm.
